Well we have been quite busy! I am ready for it to slow down. I say that and then I will be complaining when I don't have much to do. So I guess I should relish in it for now. On Friday night we had Chet, Tiff, Adam and Julie and their little ones over for a night of Rock Band. Doug worked with Chet and Adam at I.D. Electric previously, and now they are reunited. It was so fun. We always had great times back in the day. We had a Christmas party for the Iund side last Saturday. It was really a good time and good eats (of course). It is so great to hang with family at the holidays. On Sunday I finally received a calling. I have been called as the 2nd counselor in the Primary. I am very excited to serve! It will be a great experience. I look forward to getting to know the sisters I will serve with and especially all of the children. Today, Kabrynna had a "Polar Express" day at school, and Chaden had a white elephant party, in which he forgot to mention that he needed a gift for. As I dropped off the gift for Chaden's teacher he informed me he needed a gift in 10 minutes. You gotta love kids! We are excited for Christmas day, and the week after. We are thrilled to see some faces we have not seen in a while and await their visit! We have had the most amazing outpouring of love since we have moved. Not just from our beloved friends in Arizona, (thank you to Shelley especially, who has been so wonderful to our family, we love you), but from people here who hardly know us. It has been amazing. Someone around us is doing the 12 days of Christmas for our family, and it has been the most enjoyable time! Everything they have done for each day has been centered on the family and on our Savior. It has truly touched our lives. I hope that this family may know of our love and gratitude for their sacrifice in enriching our life. We fully intend on using this for a family next year. We have had the most sweetest experiences happen in the last 2 weeks. We truly have felt so loved! It makes me remember the hand of the Lord in my life each day, and how many blessings we have. Sadly, I procrastinated and did not get cards out this year, so in lieu "We wish you all a very Merry Christmas! We hope you all have peace and joy in this holiday season." HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Cousins

It snowed and it snowed and it snowed! On the bright side it warmed up like 20 degrees. I love the snow if it brings me some warmth. On Sunday, we made a snowman with kids after church. They thought that was pretty cool. They mostly just thought it was fun to lick the snowman. On Saturday, we had our ward Christmas party. We had a breakfast which I loved. It was a great get together. We came home and waited for Santa to come by the house. He was sitting on top of the fire truck with the sirens blaring. Kabrynna and Dallin were so excited to get candy from him. Then we went to Grandma Stephens house and decorated rice krispie trains instead of gingerbread houses. My Mom is so crazy. A good crazy though! I guess I should add in how crazy Chelsee and Shalene are also. They made 23 trains out of rice krispies. Thank you to you girls! The kids (including Doug and I) had a great time. They turned out adorable and were very tasty too. On Sunday, we went back to Grandma Stephens house for birthday's and our Christmas exchange. Chaden received Star Wars figures, Kabrynna received a holiday barbie (her absolute favorite thing), and Dallin received a cowboy hat and his FIRST cap gun. That was a little scary, not the hat, the gun, but he loves it! He didn't want anything to do with the hat but I told him he couldn't use the gun if he didn't wear the hat. It was a fabulous time! It was so fun to be there with everyone this year! The next few weeks seem a little crazy, but it isn't crazy from shopping. We get to run like crazy to be with our family (minus 5 that are still in Arizona- we miss you guys!). It is a great season, and our blessings are so abundant! We live and lead a GREAT life!

Baby It's Cold Outside

It has been so COLD!! I am not just saying that because I have Arizona blood still. I was watching the news the other night and in Eagle Mountain is was -18 degrees! What the heck?!! My kids have loved the snow, and of course Dallin just can't get enough. He has to go and shovel every 10 minutes. I can not get myself excited about it all (sorry to some of the Stephens' that are ski bums). It feels miserable and I can't get myself to want to even go out there. HELP!! I guess I should learn to love it. I don't remember it being so cold. I will quit crying now. We had our first decent snow this week. It actually has stayed on the ground, (it couldn't be from the negative degrees we have). Kabrynna said she made a snow angel at recess. Doug has been FREEZING his rear off. He complained so much about the heat in Arizona, and now I am sure he would take the heat over the bloody cold in a heart beat. I hope that teaches him not to complain anymore. We've been given a trial now to overcome the cold. I am kidding. All it I have to say is, "Baby, it's cold outside!"

So , we have had some happenings. I just didn't want to bore you all with a 10 page entry. So, I decided I would break it up every few days. Anyway, in September we found out that my brother Evan and his wife Lindy are going to have another baby!!! I was thrilled. They told us on their son's 1 year birthday. In October, we went to the temple with my nephew, Cameron, who was receiving his endowments. It was amazing to be in Utah at that time to be there for him. Cameron left on his mission on October 21st. He again is serving in the Piura, Peru mission. Then of course we had Halloween. It was cold! I think that is when you really miss the warmth of Arizona. The kids had a great time though. Dallin wasn't quite sure how it worked and kept asking if we were going to go get the car. That was funny! In November, Doug and I celebrated our 14th anniversary. Who would of thought we'd make it 14 years...? Doug also received 2 callings in the church. He is the 1st counselor in the Sunday School presidency and on the Cub Committee. We had Thanksgiving in Centerville with the Iund side of our family. It was great to be with my grandparents. How I love them and I am so grateful I can be closer to them right now. So far in December, we went to Temple Square last for FHE to see the lights. Oh how the cold chills you to the bone. We were very layered that night. It was beautiful though. Dallin was so cute. He saw the Salt Lake temple and said, "I was in there and I was white!" How precious that he talks about the day we were sealed. He then asked if he could go in. I hope my kids always want to go into the temple. Doug is loving having a job! We are so grateful to his boss for giving us the employment we needed so badly! Chaden is doing well in school. He is making snowmen ornaments for the holiday store for the school. Kabrynna is also doing very well. She is a social butterfly so she is adjusting quite well. She loves her school teacher, Ms.Warner. She has lots of parties for the holidays in her class. Dallin is Dallin. He loves to hang out at the neighbors next door when he is working in his garage. He likes to ask "What are you doing?" I am sure Brad and Shelley miss having Dallin wandering into their garage and house. All in all things are going well. We love our neighborhood and love the home we are in. We are looking forward to getting more acquainted with those around us and reconnecting with those we may have lost touch with. We love and miss all of you in Arizona more than you will ever know! We hope all is well with everyone.

This is the place...

So as most of you know, we have moved back to Utah from Arizona. We are so blessed to have been able to receive a job in Utah after 10 short months of unemployment. I guess after a while you have to go where the money is. It was heartbreaking to leave our life, family and friends in Arizona. It was the hardest move yet in every aspect. We came to Utah in August to meet with Doug's boss to find out if this was really the right thing and it was. We found a great home that fits our needs well so quickly. It all just worked. Then we had a month of good-bye's and spending a lot of time with those we love. We had such an amazing experience in our almost 5 years there. So many lessons learned and most of all the relationships that were made with others that will forever have affected our lives. I was the Laurel advisor in Gilbert and loved those girls with everything in me. They changed me and uplifted me. I will never forget them and their example. So we moved to Utah on September 25th. WRONG TIME OF YEAR to be moving back to this place. We left Arizona with temps at still over 100 and moved to Utah and turned on the heater. A little shocker. We are all adjusting still, but we are so very grateful for the many blessings we have been provided with. Thank you so much to all who helped us move and for those who have done many other things to help us out in time of need. Miracles are worked through others.
